Walt and Mary have been involved with the Christian Motorcyclists Association (CMA) since 1992 taking the good news of salvation through Jesus Christ to biker throughout the Southeast. Walt served in several chapter offices in CMA and as the CMA Eastern Area Representative for North Carolina for two years. They are also members of the Concerned Bikers Association(CBA), Southern Cruisers and long time members of the American Motorcyclists Association(AMA).

In January 2001, Walt sensed God calling them into full-time ministry. In the July/August of 2001 while on a cross-country trip that included Sturgis Bike Week, God guided them to create the Wide Turn Coffee Hut and Wide Turn Ministries began share coffee and Jesus all over North Carolina. The ministry supplied coffee to biker events for five years. Then a deep concern about family lead them to the decision to move back to the West Coast and closer to both of their families.

Now a new phase of their lives in Washington has brought Walt and Mary into a focused work with the homeless. In November of 2006, Walt and Mary moved to Bremerton, WA to be closer to family. Walt took a position with the Bread of Life Mission in Seattle as the Business Administrator. It is a challenging position, but fulfilling. The mission statement they adopted back in 2001 still applies to their lives.

We will go to the people who need Him (Mark 8:1), prepared to provide for their needs (Matt. 14:20), and show them compassion (Matt. 15:32) while sharing the word of hope that is the good news of what Jesus has done for us (Mark 16:15).
